Inspire a more positive, productive culture and work toward reaping benefits that can include propelling growth and performance through clear strategic directions.

“Growth begins with awareness of strengths and limitational gaps. Gaps are not a roadblock; they are the path to opportunities and greatness.” Dr. Martha Rader, 2021

Problem

If you don’t have a clear strategic cultural direction, your organization’s behaviors and actions may be based on individual values and attitudes that don’t align with your desired culture and business outcomes. In legendary management consultant Peter Drucker’s words, the actual culture driving everyday behaviors and decisions in this case tends to “eat your desired strategy for lunch.”

Without clear direction, employees and teams are not united and don’t pull toward the same shared goals. People naturally rely on their own values and behaviors, which may not be in the best interest of your company. This lack of direction can cause conflict and derail productivity and performance. Consider the old adage, “United we stand; divided we fall.”

Think about areas where you may have lost opportunity costs.

Solution

  • Assess your current organizational culture and MVP status

  • Strategic direction planning: collectively brainstorming the most significant values that describe what your organization stands for, what behaviors are expected, and what boundaries your company will not tolerate

  • Develop and understand the values that will lead to designing a clear purpose and mission statement with guiding principles and a list of priorities

  • Collaboratively develop a communication and implementation plan for all stakeholders

  • Priorities may include a leadership development series to align with strategic directions

Benefits

  • Provides guiding principles and an understanding on how stakeholders should act with integrity
